Why I built Jukwaa

I ran my own newsletter on beehiiv. Every month the bill went up with the list, including the readers who had stopped opening long ago. Paying in dollars from Tanzania made it worse.

So I moved my 15,000 readers to my own sending setup. Same deliverability, a few dollars a month. Then other businesses asked me to set up the same for them. Jukwaa is that setup, made for everyone.

Questions

Will my emails land in spam?

Not if your readers asked for them. Every email is signed with DKIM and SPF on your own domain, so inboxes know it's really from you. Every send goes to your most engaged readers first, bounced addresses are removed for you, and a campaign pauses itself if complaints climb. The rest is on you: email people who signed up, and write things they want to read.

Why is pricing by emails sent, not subscribers?

Because subscribers who never open shouldn't cost you money. Other tools charge for every address on your list, including the dormant ones. Jukwaa charges for emails that actually go out. A list of 10,000 that you email once a week needs about 43,000 emails a month. That's the Growth plan.

Can I bring my list from Mailchimp, beehiiv or Substack?

Yes, with a CSV export. Import it in a minute. Unsubscribed, bounced and complained contacts keep their status, so nobody who left gets emailed again. Past open rates come along too, so your first send still reaches your most engaged readers first.

Do I need my own domain?

You should use one, and we make it quick. Emails from hello@yourbusiness.com reach the inbox more reliably than a shared address, and readers recognise you. Add the domain in Jukwaa, approve a few DNS records (automatically with Cloudflare, GoDaddy and others, or by copying them), and you're set.

What happens if I send more than my plan?

Sending pauses until the month resets or you move up a plan. Nothing is sent that you haven't paid for and nothing is charged that you didn't choose. You'll see your usage on the overview at all times.

What is Jukwaa not for?

Bought lists and cold outreach. New accounts send to small groups until we've had a look, and we pause anyone who emails people who didn't sign up. It's what keeps delivery rates high for everyone on Jukwaa.

Is there a free plan?
